For the fisherman solely interested in catching massive amounts of salmon, we receive millions of Pink Salmon on every other year. These fish are not the Salmon you would want to take home with you, but catching 50 of them a day on light tackle is something everyone should experience.

The oil content in the Pink Salmon prevents the freezing of the fish for eating, but fresh off the boat they eat ok. This upcoming season is a "Pink-Year." In August it is possible to catch your limit of 2 Silver Salmon, and catch and release Pinks until your blue in the face. For the fisherman who thinks he has done everything on the Kenai Peninsula, but has yet to fish with Belknap Fishing on a Silver/Pink Combo trip, your list is not complete.

This is one of our favorite times of the year on the Kenai River. Casting spinners for Pink Salmon is by far the easiest way to get any kid hooked on fishing. I have repeat customers that only want to fish in August. They get to take home their two Silver Salmon per day, and get to release as many Pink Salmon as they can catch. These fish are looked down on, due to the oil content in the fish. Make no mistake, these fish are ferocious bighters and make for a fun, action packed day of fishing.
