This Deep Creek halibut experience is a must do on your Alaskan Fishing trip. Less than a 45 minute drive from the Kenai River, the trip departs from Deep Creek boat ramp by tractor. Our Captain has been fishing these same waters for 22 years and is of the most experienced Captains available.

This fishery is of the most successful, and popular of the Kenai Peninsula ocean fishing charters. Typically, halibut charters involve a long, grueling run to the fishing holes. These halibut funnel into Cook Inlet from the deep in the summer. This allows for a short 20-40 minute "run" from the Deep Creek tractor launch in a "six-pack" boat to assure safety, as well as comfort.

Throughout May and into June this fishing trip involves fishing for King Salmon before they enter the Kenai and Kasilof rivers, and a halibut charter. This combo is very popular amongst our clients. They have a great chance at a King Salmon, straight out of the ocean, then the opportunity to catch halibut. This combo trip is offered into middle part of June.

The limit on these great tasting bottom fish is two fish per person. After your trip, the Captain will fillet your fish as a part of the $225 charge. For a cost of $1 per pound, the captain will vacuum pack your fish and send you away with your clean, freezable catch.
